Uncompromised...

(This is the second original that we performed at our convocation ceremony... It started in my mind with a Staccato rhythm much like the way we take a look back with our each step when we are leaving someone very dear to us....)

Too many thoughts

In my mind

Keep me awake

All night.

I don't sleep

Anymore

To keep my dreams

In my sight

Though you think that i’m

Going farther away from you.

Its so sad that you think

My love for you is untrue.

You don't believe me anymore,

Yet i am knockin your door.

Though i lie to this world

My love for you is pure.

I’ll hold on as you leave,

My soul you did thieve,

Yes i believe you will return

When you realise

My love for you remains uncompromised.

As i hold on,

You slip away,

I don’t regret this,

In any way.

I smile silently,

On my fate.

Too much time for me,

To hate..

Though you think that my,

Relationships don’t go through.

Its so sad that you think

My love for you is untrue.

You dont believe me anymore,

Yet i am knockin your door.

Though i lie to this world

My love for you is pure.

I’ll hold on as you leave,

My soul you did thieve,

Yes i believe you will return

When you realise

My love for you remains uncompromised.

A Rock to Step on... (Lyric)

{A Rock to Step on...
Project: A White Rising}
(The idea for this theme and song came into my mind when i was behind the wheel, on my way to my college. Came up with a few lines that i penned down. Also a special thanks to Miss Zee (Zasper) who quickly came up with the second verse of the song, perfect for the thought that lead to the positive chorus... Arsh)

Washed away,
In a valley somewhere,
Give me something,
A rock to step back on..

Watched the Sunrise,
And watched it set,
Over my dreams,
The night has grown so strong..

If only i remember,
How i was back then, before the fall.
If only i can feel something,
A presence, a shinin star at nightfall.

I can see something like a
Light from the outer space,
I feel no fear,
I take a leap of faith.
i was blind, but now i can see,
Clear skies in front of me.
I am flying,
I’m leaving my doubts behind..

Every day, I
Sway with this one feeling,
That there is another reason,
For me to live.

Is it just me? Coz
I’ve stopped believing,
Can anyone hear me?
Every truth is just so deceiving..

If only i remembered,
How i was back then, before the fall.
If only i can feel something,
A presence, a shinin star at the nightfall.

I can see something like a
Light from the outer space,
I feel no fear,
I take a leap of faith.
i was blind, but now i can see,
Clear skies in front of me.
I am flying,
I’m leaving my doubts behind..

Every time i get pushed down,
There is something i want to rise back for.
This is the light i’ve been searching for.
I take a deep breath,
I feel lighter than before, here i come,
I have faith now....

I can see something like a
Light from the outer space,
I feel no fear,
I take a leap of faith.
i was blind, but now i can see,
Clear skies in front of me.
I am flying,
I’m leaving my doubts behind..

Live the Dream...

{One of the originals that we sung we our convocation ceremony was the one below. I share my feeling of positivity here:-)}

Its like i was

Searching faith before.

And when i found it,

Something new was in store.

I thought that life

Felt stagnant before,

But i feel relieved

I don’t feel like that anymore.

Something has changed in me, {bridge}

That i see things differently...

Its like i feel {chorus}

lonely no more,

in darkness around me

i feel there r doors.

As i move ahead,

Taking the steam,

With all my hardwork,

I feel, m living the dream,

Living the dream...

All this comfort,

I want no more.

Its all disturbance,

I want it out of the door.

I felt i was through

This life before.

Before i opened my mind

For what it had in store..

And now something has changed in me,

That i see things differently....

Its like i feel {chorus}

lonely no more,

in darkness around me

i feel there r doors.

As i move ahead,

Taking the steam,

With all my hardwork,

I feel, m living the dream,

living the dream...........

Ending a Conversation....:-)

{ This is a poem i have written for some of my friends who had a characteristic end lines, really funny ones, and how i never managed to accept them as the endings. wrote this in my IInd yr mbbs. enjoy:-)}

I am a very simple boy,

With a little bit of fashion.

But oh my ! I don’t know how,

To end a conversation.

There the ones with sweet tongue,

They take you to a height,

And they just pull right down,

With a sweet goodbye, good night.

And the ones which annoy me most,

Do they think I’m a clown ?

Or one of those dumb mascots,

When they suppose they’ll see me around ?

Yes, there are some funny gals,

They prefer to use, ‘chalo’(Hindi)

And I smile and reply with glee,

Well, where do you want to go ?

Oh ! one of my personal favourites,

Where ‘achha’(Hindi) signifies the end,

Sounds like ‘yes’ is the call,

But the opposite message it sends.

And some just don’t deserve a phone,

They talk so little, so much so,

Though the talk has ended long ago,

There are miles and miles to go.

And then its me, the gentle guy,

I think how to end while I chat,

I never get the nerve to say goodbye,

And well that’s that.

I like those people, bold and all,

They hit you like a stone,

Like they have been ending things all along,

“Hang up buddy or I’ll bang the phone”

Month of May. by Arshaj

{ Six months after i had written a poem, my friends insisted that i give rhythm to the verses. }

I close my eyes

In a hope to see her again.

I search, my sight

Sees nothing known at another end.

I know you lied,

That you would come back for me instead.

I’m still alive, on . . .

These darkened roads just to tread.

I’ll follow you there,

I’ll follow you there where you stare,

I’ll follow you there,

Walking silently in an innocent Month of May.

So much to think,

Of many things I had to say.

I’ll give my life away,

Just find me some another way.

I fear, they fade,

Shadows from my past I barely see.

Are you for real,

Like those silences talking to me.

I’ll follow you there,

I’ll follow you there where you stare,

I’ll follow you there,

Walking silently in an innocent Month of May.

Day May Come.... (Lyric)

Changing seasons,
Changing days of my life.
I have a reason,
A reason to be alive.

No these failures,
Can’t get to me anymore.
And so is the same,
With tears and smiles.

I’ve been alone for long...

Long roads to travel,
I’ve been in the hearts,
Of the weak, & the strong,
To lose control now,
Of this life I’m leading,
I have a good feeling,
That sorrows end, i don’t pretend,
That day may come...

Life gives you,
Lot of things to live for.
May be I am blinded,
Too blinded, by my pride.

Must shed off the mask,
To see all the happiness,
These glares that I wear,
Preclude my vision beyond the tide.

I have been long for long,
Not long enough to forget...

Long roads to travel,
I’ve been in the hearts,
Of the weak, n the strong,
To lose control now,
Of this life I’m leading,
I have a good feeling,
That sorrows end, I don’t pretend,
That day may come,
That Day May Come...

Nothing to Lose?

The deep dark shadows of our minds

Set out, into the night

Fearless, as a beast,

Invisible, to our sight.

As the moon peeks from behind the dense clouds,

It faces their cold stare

They all rise in unison

To fight the battles those were unfair.

The Earth’s bed rumbles now,

It’s getting hollow from inside.

Its spirit eaten away,

By the dark human side.

And now even She doesn’t care,

If a beast lives inside.

She will surely show,

Her power, as we divide...

An eye for an eye,

And the heart missed a beat.

So much of hatred inside,

Slumbering in the heat.

Is our conscience asleep?

Or do we pretend to ignore.

That our bodies are no more,

And our spirit is all sore.

So much do we hate this place?

That life is no more precious.

Just an object we possess,

Just as worthless as we are here.

Have we succeeded to deceive?

Our mind, faithlessness and negativity ooze

All the innocence lost, we now believe,

There is nothing more to lose.

Are we not forgetting what we are fighting for?

We were the bright stars, in the setting dawn.

From what we aspired to become,

We have come too far.

Destroyed the keep,

And lost the golden hour.

The trickle of tears, hopes are torn,

Shooting stars fulfil no wishes no more...
